I am officially in the Philippines. It’s corny, but somethings are starting to change already.

3 T-Minus 6 hours, 40 minutes until I am in the van, driving to the airport to fly to The Philippines…
And my mind still hasn’t really accepted it yet. For some reason, I feel like I’ve felt the country before, but I have never left these bold boundary lines of the United States. And in ten hours, I will be on a plane to a country halfway around the world for two weeks.
I told a friend yesterday that instead of being nervous or excited about just leaving the country for the first time, I feel like I’ve been preparing for something bigger. Like the rest of my life. Just the phrasing seems so ridiculous to me, but I know that this trip means more to me than nearly anything else I’ve ever done. If Invisible Children has been my baby step, this is my leap of faith.
Two years of college down and I’m starting to see my hopes of saving lives around the world come true. This is a tiny beginning to what I want to do, but it’s a beginning, nonetheless. And a true beginning at that.
Part of me wants to drone on about how prepared I feel like this big adventure, but I know the moment I step on Filipino soil, my world is going to turn counter-clockwise.
